Our Greatest and Loving Dad’s 49th Day

18th January 2008 (Friday) marked the 49th day of my dearest Dad’s passing. Forty-nine days. It’s been REALLY hard for me, I’m trying to move on, but it just doesn’t seem to get any easier.

We had two prayer sessions for him yesterday.  One prayer was done at my parents’ home and one at  Buddhist […]

I’m Not A Plastic Bag

I am pretty surprised that when Anya Hindmarch launched the environmental-friendly shopping bag “I’m Not A Plastic Bag”, it was snapped up the moment it was launched.  I’m Not A Plastic Bag came about because she wanted to use her influence in a positive way to make it fashionable not to use plastic bags.  The […]

TGIF

Finally Friday! It’s a lady’s night out for me and my special girlfriend, Stefanie. All we want is a good chat and a couple of ice-creams and latte. Thing is, everyone is so engrossed in our conversation, that the only thing they notice about me is “Doris, there’s something different about you tonight….. I really […]

Live The Dream

After a week of shopping, eating and clubbing, it is nice to spend some quiet time rotting at home before heading to KL tomorrow. Last night was especially nice watching Live The Dream, with my hubby coming in occasionally to stuff me with some chocolates.  Bliss.
After watching Live The Dream, I question how many of […]

I love my cup of latte

Recently, I am not sure if I am suffering from writers block. Perhaps, it is due to lack of sleep, willpower, or inspiration; I just can’t seem to have the urge to blog anymore.  Also, I have been extremely busy. I was very alert and happy this morning.  I met my good friend @ Vivo […]

Our Trip to Nepal

Our 1st pilgrimage trip to Kathmandu was really an amazing and blissful experience.  The best part of the whole trip was we got to witness the enthronement ceremony of Venerable Tulku Tenzin Puntsok Rinpoche and meeting up front with Lama Zopa Rinpoche and Khenrinpoche, followed by pilgrimage to the holy sites in Kathmandu valley.
1st […]

Mangosteen that costs as much as $68.00

The recent headline caught my attention; my thoughts immediately started revolving around all fruit juices that are making “phenomenal” sales as the latest health fad takes off.  I thought we were crazed about Pomegranate juice a few months ago, as we have been stocking few bottles during our weekly shopping at the supermarket. The juice […]

First two weeks of July 07

The first two week of July has been pretty busy. Apart from attending a three-day course in Traffic Mastery Workshop, I have been swamped. I met up with a close friend from Harvard
University, ran a couple of errands, and had my medicals done.  There goes my two week!    Caught all the latest nice movies and […]

My Very First Blog

I am writing my first blog since my domain (www.dorislive.com) was born on 23 June 2007.  It might be just a domain, but for a few brief moments, I was experiencing the simple joy of achievement.  It was my passion, that I started this journey.
How it began. My turning point started, after attending the WIS […]
